Peter Schmeichel

"I have the utmost respect for Rob Harris and Jeff Ross as two of the best physiotherapists I have ever worked with and I believe they are in fact two of the best and most complete physiotherapists the Premiership has ever seen. Their ability to diagnose an injury is second to none whilst their application and philosophies of treatment are always rewarded with outstanding results. Their manner, professionalism and abilities are such that even in retirement, my family and I still see Rob and Jeff routinely to help with our various injuries and general fitness wellbeing."

Peter Schmeichel is most definitely a legend. The former Manchester United Number 1 will go down in history as the club’s greatest ever goalkeeper and a public poll by Reuters in 2001 named him the best ‘keeper in the World ever.

In 2003 he was inducted into the English Football Hall of Fame and a year later he was listed as one of the 125 greatest living footballers at the FIFA 100 celebrations.

It’s no surprise really, because when he was playing for Denmark, Manchester United and later at Aston Villa and Manchester City, there were many times when the Dane was quite simply unbeatable.

He played 398 times for United over 8 seasons, picking up the European Cup, Super Cup, 5 Premiership titles, 3 FA Cups, the League Cup and 4 Charity Shields.

He’s even got the record as the first goalkeeper in the Premier League to score a goal - in a 3-2 defeat for Villa at Goodison Park.

To think, Sir Alex Ferguson picked up the unknown 27-year old for just over half a million pounds from Brondby in 1991 - a year before Schmeichel’s national side won the European Championships.
