Patient Journey

The Patient Journey

Harris & Ross patients have access to healthcare provisions, previously only available to elite athletes.

Our state of the art facilities and experienced staff teamed with our relationships with consultants and rapid access to imaging  means we can lead the rehabilitation from beginning to end. Whether it’s a SportWork, or Lifestyle problem, or it’s an orthopaedic issue, we are here to help.

Our Physiotherapists are equipped to follow a patient’s journey from the initial consultation right though to your return to work or sport, ensuring they can enjoy life as much as possible. There’s nowhere else in the UK that offers such a streamlined service. The patient journey is critical to the way we work and Harris & Ross ensure our patients are taken care of during their time in rehab.

Helping you achieve your goals

From the moment you arrive at a Harris & Ross clinic, you will be cared for by one of our highly experienced members of staff.

Your therapist will take a full and thorough history, including any relevant medical information. You will be asked lots of questions about your problem including how it started, how your condition progressed, where you feel your pain and what aggravates and eases it.

The area will be fully examined and perform a series of movements and specific tests. The practitioner will also use their hands to feel for any tenderness or abnormalities. Whenever possible you will be provided with a clear diagnosis. It is imperative that you know what is wrong with you.

Your therapist will use diagrams, pictures and models to explain in plain English what is wrong. This is also an opportunity for you to ask as many questions as you like, to get a full understanding of your condition. The therapist will then explain how we can help you.

This will involve an explanation of the treatment techniques and exercises that you will benefit from and what you can do to help yourself. You will leave your first session with a clear understanding of the process required to return you to full health and the treatment plan that will get you there.

If we feel that you need more than physiotherapy, we can make a call on your behalf to arrange further investigations such as scans or specialist appointments, often on the very same day. Your treatment pathway will continue to be led by us.

That means that you will be looked after by a team of specialists, working together to make sure you get the most appropriate and best treatment for you.

Rather than being passed from one department to the next, you will always know that Harris & Ross have an overview of everything to help you achieve your goals. This gives our patients the assurance they are being cared for as individuals by some of the best medical professionals available to them.
