Bupa Great Manchester Run

Congratulations to everyone who took part in the Bupa Great Manchester Run in May. It was part of a fantastic weekend of sport in the city centre and we were on-hand to help out.

Jeff and our newest recruit, sports massage specialist, Maria were at the Hilton Hotel on Deansgate for the 10k, helping local Cheadle charity, Together Trust. We provided injury assessments and advice throughout the morning and even stepped in on a few occasions to provide some pre- and post- race massages.

The race itself was won by the legendary Haile Gebreselassie, the 38 year old notching up his third consecutive win in Manchester. The women's race was won by Helen Clitheroe, who currently holds the British 3000m steeplechase record.

Paralympic Games Gold medallist, David Weir was well ahead of the chasing back, finishing in 22:23, with Simon Lawson coming home in 25:24. Meanwhile Dame Tanni Grey-Thompson managed fourth in the women's section. First place went to Nikki Emmerson, who's coached by Grey-Thompson's husband, Ian.
