Harris & Ross opens specialist Women’s Health clinicsPosted on April 15th, 2014
Physiotherapy could change your life. We don’t write that sentence lightly because with decades of experience in Women’s Healthcare, we know how big a difference our new specialist division could have on your day-to-day life.
Do any of these sound familiar:
You can’t run after the children, for fear of leakage?
You’re constantly looking for toilets on days out?
You can’t exercise without wearing pads?
You worry about intercourse as things don’t feel right “down there”?
Well, that’s why we’re here, because really you shouldn’t have to live with this and statistically, we know that 50% of women don’t seek medical help for incontinence problems. And of those that do, they wait 7 years to get in touch.
Harris & Ross is founded on providing, elite professional care for everyone and it’s no different with Harris & Ross Women’s Healthcare – Pelvic Performance for Life.
It’s not embarrassing, frankly, it’s normal as 1 in 3 women will experience Women’s Health problems.
Joining our team is Debbie Bernstein, a specialist physiotherapist with more than 10 years’ experience and a mum of 2 young children.
“These problems unfortunately do not just go away in time, and to be able to give people back their confidence and improve their quality of life is an amazing feeling,” she said.
She will be supported by leading consultant physiotherapist, Julia Herbert. With 25 years’ experience, she is an expert in the field, lecturing in the UK and around the world. She’s a clinical director at Pelviva, which has been designed to strengthen your pelvic floor.
“Women are so poorly served in this area. The NHS is overstretched and Women’s Health services are often underfunded, so patients aren’t getting the care they need,” continued Debbie.
“We will become a centre of excellence for dealing with Women’s Health at the Harris & Ross clinics. These are sensitive issues and as well as treating patients with the elite care you would expect at Harris & Ross, this is also about raising awareness and telling women, you’re not alone, you shouldn’t be embarrassed and it can be treated.”
World class facilities
The clinics are located in Bury and consulting rooms at Manchester Spire and Hale Spire. Diagnostics and treatment are by a consultant physiotherapist and specialist physiotherapist, using state of the art equipment. Harris & Ross has excellent links through Spire to leading consultants.
