Harris & Ross ring side as Murray nears World Title fight

Posted on November 26th, 2012

While Ricky Hatton’s heartbreaking comeback deservedly took the headlines, it was the 2 undercards at the Manchester Arena who shone and both had Harris & Ross in their corner.

Martin Murray looks on course to get a second shot at the middleweight title after a 6th round stoppage of his Venezuelan opponent Jorge Navarro.

The St Helens’ fighter has been working hard with Harris & Ross in the build up to the fight and once again Rob Harris was in his corner as official physio.

30-year-old Murray was always in control of the fight, putting his opponent down in the very first round. Next stop looks likely to be Argentina where he’ll face World Number One, Sergio Martinez.

Meanwhile, great news for Scott Quigg, who stopped Rendall Munroe, also in the 6th round. Scott’s been working with Harris & Ross’ Alan Raw for many years, so it was great to see another victory for one of our boxers.

It was a rematch of June’s fight, which had to be stopped when Munroe got a cut above the right eye, but this time there were no doubts. Bury’s Quigg was the out-and-out favourite and proved it, taking home the interim WBA World Super Bantomweight title. It also means another step towards a match up with fellow Brit Carl Frampton.

Quigg said after the fight, “The treatment, the medical advice and rehab I have from Alan are fantastic. The best. And I place my career in his expert hands.
