Jenny Meadows captains GB & NI team

Posted on March 1st, 2013

Jenny Meadows is to captain the Great Britain and Northern Ireland team at the European Indoor Championships.

It’s a fantastic tribute to Jenny, who leads the 29-strong GB&NI team to Gothenburg this weekend.

It means 2013 is getting off to the best possible start, after a really tough 2012. Ending 2011 as the first British athlete to win the Diamond Race, she was one of the poster girls for London 2012.

Sadly, injury kept her out of competitive running last year and despite all her hard work to be fit for the Olympics, she unfortunately missed out on selection for the squad.

At Harris & Ross we’ve worked alongside Jenny for many years and we’re absolutely delighted she’s been handed this honour and we know she’ll be a great captain for the GB&NI team. Jenny won gold at the 2011 European Indoors in Paris, when the original winner,

Yevgeniya Zinurova was disqualified.
