Michael Rimmer secures World Championships place with 800m titlePosted on July 15th, 2013
Michael Rimmer has won a sixth national title and secured his place at the World Championships.
His preparation for the Sainsbury’s British Championships in Birmingham had been hampered with injury, so he’s been a regular at the Harris & Ross Wilmslow physiotherapy clinic to get ready for the meet.
All the hard work paid off with a time of 1.47.79 which not only means he’s regained his national title, but also that he’ll be heading off to Moscow, with TeamGB next month.
With no David Rudisha at the starting line at the World Championships, the field opens up, so Rimmer has a good chance to make the final at his fourth attempt.
