Running Achilles Tendon Injuries

Posted on March 15th, 2011

The most important thing to do is get seen to as quickly as you can, the earlier you get into your GP or physio clinic, the better.

The keys to successful rehab of Achilles tendinopathy are: early diagnosis; treatment to prevent additional collagen damage; an eccentric strengthening programme; the correction of predisposing factors such as muscle tightness and abnormal biomechanics; and appropriate progression to functional activities and sports specific rehabilitation.
