Skiing – Stay safe on the slopes

It’s snowing in Europe!

Heavy snowfall throughout Europe in the last couple of weeks, and has left pistes in excellent conditions with fantastic, fresh, powdery conditions.

With temperatures forecast to stay below freezing, it means that pistes should remain in excellent conditions. Here at Harris & Ross, this means all our skiers and snowboarders are itching to hit the slopes. So if you are thinking of heading off to enjoy these fantastic, then you may want to consider the following points:

Be prepared. Like all other outdoor activities, skiing and snowboarding requires alot of physical fitness to prevent injuries and fatigue.

Stay safe. Make sure get the right protective equipment ready to take with you to ensure that you have a safe and happy trip.

Sort out any niggles or injuries. Even minor bothers can restrict your ability to enjoy your trip, so why not make an appointment to come and see one of our physiotherapists to address any queries or problems you may have.

Get organised. Buy snacks to take away with you, to ensure you have snacks and hydration to replenish with whilst you are on the slopes. For more information see our article on skiing nutrition.

Look after your feet. Healthy feet are essential for skiing so consider addressing any problems you may have before you go away by seeing our podiatrist here at Harris & Ross.
