Harris & Ross have joined forces with Super League Club, Widnes Vikings as their official medical provider for the 2015 campaign.

It is set to be a big year for Widnes with squad looking to better their 8th place finish in the 2014 season. A position that also earned them a place in the end of season play offs for the first time in their history. Another major highlight to the season was the semi-final face off with Castleford Tigers in the Challenge Cup.

Harris & Ross will be running the medical department for the entire Vikings squad and we’ll be pitch side for every single match, home and away. This coupled with our close relationship with Spire Manchester Hospital allows for rapid access to any necessary imaging, sports medicine or surgical consultations to keep the players fit and healthy for the season.

As a part of this deal former club physiotherapist, Peter Talbot, will return to the team as the Head Physio. Since leaving the club earlier in 2014, Peter has been an integral part of the team here at Harris & Ross. As a part of his duties, he accompanied french Sky Diver and BASE Jumper, Fred Fugen, to Dubai to complete his world record BASE Jump from the Burj Khalifa.

Peter is also available to be seen by our private patients at our Wilmslow clinic on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, specialising in injury prevention and rehabilitation.

Joining Peter in the Physiotherapy department at the club is Woody Al-Zidgali or Woody as he is known to most. Woody completed his BSc in Sport and Exercise Science at the University of Wales Institute Cardiff. Following this he graduated with a Masters in Physiotherapy from Manchester Metropolitan University in 2014. This led him to join the Harris and Ross team in October 2014.

Harris & Ross have been working with elite rugby league and union teams since the very start of the company. Rob Harris was head physiotherapist at Wigan Warriors, GB Rugby League and New Zealand’s rugby league team. Jeff Ross was head physiotherapist and consultant physiotherapist at Sale Sharks.
