Podiatry & Biomechanics
At Harris & Ross a biomechanical assessment with our Sports Podiatrist, Thomas Johnson, is an integral part of our physiotherapy and rehabilitation service. Thomas is on hand at our Wilmslow and Manchester clinics to treat foot, leg and postural complaints.
It’s sometimes only when you get an injury, that you realise the importance of your feet and how they can be the origin of pain.
Thomas will assess your walking and running patterns indepth to give you a deeper understanding of the many factors which cause foot pain and discomfort, which if left untreated can severely affect day-to-day life and can lead to further injury.
Our Lead Podiatrist provides rigorous analysis, testing flexibility, strength, alignment and posture, dynamic muscle strength, joint and ligament integrity, nerve testing and gait analysis of the lower limbs.
Podiatric biomechanics is more than looking at a patient’s feet; it is an in depth analysis of your biomechanics (from head to toe) which enables us to identify underlying factors causative to the injury.
Our podiatry team work hand in hand with the physiotherapists to optimise care, and often referral to a Physio is used to give comprehensive care and a multidisciplinary approach.
For work, for life, for sport
Thomas will outline a treatment plan specific to your occupation, age, gender, chosen footwear and sporting activity.
We have treated patients whose jobs require for them to be on their feet all day and helped older people with their mobility, giving them much needed independence.
Our patients include children with growing pains to Olympic athletes who are suffering with ongoing problems. Whether you compete at a professional or amateur level or are struggling with day-to-day life, you will receive the same high level of care.
Foot Care & Chiropody
Many problems can be eased on your very first visit to the clinic; with a bespoke treatment plan we can work on getting your feet in perfect shape so you can walk, run and play sports pain-free.
Conditions that are treated at Harris & Ross foot care include: verrucas, corns, callus, ingrown toenails, fungal nail disorders, athlete’s foot and more.
Our Podiatry team are trained in the latest nail surgery techniques to treat ingrowing toenails with partial or total nail avulsion procedures.
Fungal nails are another problem our Podiatrist can help with and will also advise on how to prevent the issue from reocurring.
