Joanne qualified from Salford University in 2007 with a BSc Hons Physiotherapy and achieved an MSc Strength and Conditioning from the same University in 2014. Joanne has worked within both an elite sport and private practice setting.
She began her sports career in 2005 within Rugby League as Head Physiotherapist at Widnes Vikings. During her time in this role the team became the Northern Rail Cup Winners in 2008 and runners up in 2010.
In 2011 Joanne moved to Wigan Warriors Rugby League club taking on the role as Head of the Academy and Assistant Physiotherapist to the First Team. Later in 2014 Joanne was promoted to the role of Head Physiotherapist. During her time at the club the team achieved success becoming Super League Champions, Challenge Cup Winners and World Club Champions.
Joanne also worked with the Samoan National Rugby League Team, being involved in the 2013 World Cup and the 2014 Pacific Test match in Australia, a win that confirmed their place in the 2014 Four Nations.
More recently Joanne worked in the role of Lead Physiotherapist for Manchester City Women’s Football Club, reaching the FA Cup and UEFA Champions League semi finals, Continental Cup Final and achieving runners up in Women’s Super League 1 over the 2017/18 season.
