Magdalena Watson (Mags to her friends!) has recently joined the Wilmslow clinic as a Sports Massage Therapist.
Mags originally got a Masters in Marketing and Advertising, and worked in various offices using those skills. However, In 2012 her partner suffered from a pro-lapsed disc, and was in a lot of pain. She was desperate to help, and had a conversation with his physio to see if there was anything she could be doing for him at home in between physio appointments. She was so good at it, her partner begged her to re-train and that’s exactly what she did. Another 2 years of studying, and she was up and running in the world of sports therapy, and working with various local football clubs, including with the youth at Oldham Athletic.
“I am a Sports Therapist with a solid background and practical experience in Manual Therapy, Trigger point therapy, myofascial release, dry needling, cupping and other manual treatments. I have developed a good standard of pitch side injury management during my time in football and planning injury rehabilitation programmes for players. I have also worked with a wide range of clients from various elite sporting backgrounds and leisure sectors.
I like to continually develop my own knowledge and skills by completing further training and qualifications. Additionally to my Sports Therapy qualification, I am also a Personal Trainer, Fitness Instructor, and a Yoga Teacher. Using all of the knowledge and experience I have taken from each, I am able to combine them in order to achieve positive outcomes for clients. As a sufferer of scoliosis myself, I fully understand how important the correct treatment method can be to improving our quality of life.”
