Rob Harris is a former international cyclist and triathlete and has been a regular on the Etape Du Tour. So Sports Tours International has asked him to put together his training diary to help riders get prepared for the challenge.
This year the event is completely different with two Etapes:
Acte I is the one that’s generating the excitement as it goes from Modane to the almost mythical Alpe d’Huez, so that means an opportunity to ride two of the most famous mountains in cycling.
Acte II is a 130m ride from Issoire to Saint Flour through the Massif Centrale – it’ll be truly stunning.
Whether you’re doing Acte I, Acte II or indeed both, training is absolutely vital and you really need to get your timetable in order right now. It’s one thing starting the race, but finishing it is even more of a challenge!
