Here at Harris & Ross we are used to seeing an array of different patients every week- from sports stars to adventurers, business people to youngsters with growing pains! However this week was a bit of a change from the usual as we were invited to Manchester Academy to treat singer Billy Eilish who was on the UK leg of her sell out world tour.
Described in NME magazine as ”the US musician is fast becoming a household name, with her gothic aesthetic, outlandish quotes, twisted videos and uncompromising vision winning over her legion of young fans all over the globe,’ Billie Eilish is hot property in the music industry right now with 30 million monthly Spotify listeners and 13.7m followers on Instagram
With such a physically demanding set and relentless schedule of tour dates, Billie had been suffering with shin splints- to the extent that she was in severe pain- so Universal Records dropped Harris & Ross a call to see if we could do anything to help her overcome the issue ready for her concert at The Academy.
Director Jeff Ross headed to the stage door and was met by a legion of fans all keen to make sure that he did his best work and ensure their pop idol was ok to perform! He spent over an hour treating Billie’s shin splints with a combination of massage techniques, dry needling, mobilisation exercises and then to ensure that she made it through the gig added strapping to her feet and ankles- alleviating the worst of the pain. Treatment over, lovely Billie offered Jeff a wristband to attend the concert and went on to smash her Manchester gig receiving amazing reviews!
