With a CV that boasts a fair few reputable football teams, part time Lecturer at the University of Salford and a post at Care UK, we’re looking forward to Nick making his own mark at Harris & Ross!
Nick has worked in Premier League Football for over twenty years; Clubs including Bolton Wanderers, West Bromwich Albion, Manchester City and Fulham have utilised him as their Head Physio. Nick was the England U21 Physiotherapist from 2000 to 2003 and he was also a key member of the Medical team that helped Al Jazira, from Abu Dhabi, win the League and Cup double for the first time in their history in 2011.
Nick has a wealth of treatment experience to call upon across the full range of applications – and not just in sport, his CV also includes touring with U2 in 2010 and treating Kanye West and Guns N’ Roses!
Education and continued professional development are key factors in Nick’s career, not satisfied with completing a Masters in Orthopaedic Medicine in 2005, he continued his studies and qualified as a Clinical Hypnotherapist and Professional Coach. He has also created a programme with AQR to use Mental Toughness within Sport.
He is also a highly skilled lecturer and facilitator who contributes to the MSc programmes at both Bath and Salford Universities. As a Fellow of the Society of Musculoskeletal Medicine, Nick teaches Physiotherapists and GP’s about manual therapy skills, manipulations and injections.
With a deep understanding and a keen observer in the motivational aspects of returning patients to full fitness following an injury, this is an area in which Nick has developed some significant expertise. This allows him to apply the acquired skills and knowledge to the challenges faced by leaders in business and commerce. As most people are aware that a healthy body, goes hand in hand with a healthy mind, it is known that leaders in business tend to overlook the physiological aspects of their wellbeing; it’s important to remember mental wellbeing, as well as posture and fitness, can have an impact on your performance at work.
